Two CIS teams guaranteed themselves top-6, results of the first day of The International 2025
Today was the first day of The International 2025. The opening ceremony was held in the best traditions: Gabe Newell's address was heard, an orchestra played, and team introductions were shown. The stands at Barclays Arena in Hamburg were completely full, with about 15 thousand people in attendance!
As a result of the game day, Xtreme Gaming, PARIVISION, BetBoom Team and Team Falcons secured themselves a top-6 spot at The International 2025 in advance, while Tundra Esports, Heroic, Nigma Galaxy and Team Tidebound fell into the lower bracket.
The day opened with a match between Xtreme Gaming and Tundra Esports. The Chinese team once again proved their superiority. Moreover, by defeating 33 and his team, Xtreme Gaming showed that their game does not rely solely on Ame, who completely fell out at the beginning of the second map. Xxs finished the maps with scores of 4/1/16 and 2/1/13 and was recognized by our subscribers as the MVP of this series!
The series between PARIVISION and Heroic was even less intense. The drafts and execution of PARIVISION were simply a head above the South American team. In total, over both maps, Heroic managed to make only 30 kills, while PARIVISION had twice as many.

Team Falcons also crushed Team Tidebound completely. Surprisingly, in this tournament, almost no one bans such signature heroes of Malr1ne as Earthshaker and Sand King. On the last map, Team Tidebound seemed to have completely lost their spirit, as literally every player of Team Falcons was able to pick their best hero. The map ended predictably with a score of 5-22.
Finally, there was a full BO3 series left. BetBoom Team played all three maps with Nigma Galaxy. On the first map, GH showed an incredible performance and proved that you can win a game as a support in the fifth position. But starting from the second map, BetBoom Team began to pick comfortable heroes for the cores, in particular, the signature Puck for gpk~, the incredibly useful Lycan for MieRo` and the signature Templar Assassin for Pure.
After the match, gpk~ assessed the game day as follows: "The matches were a bit difficult, but I think we put sticks in our own wheels."
The International 2025 is taking place from September 4 to 14 in Hamburg, Germany. At the moment, the tournament's prize pool is 2.78 million dollars.
