Spirit, Aurora and Liquid left TI, results of Round Elimination
As a result of today's day, without ever being on stage, The International 2025 saw the elimination of Team Spirit, Aurora, Team Liquid, and Wildcard Gaming. In three days, the teams that advanced to the playoffs will play on the main stage of the tournament.
Aurora could not overcome Nigma Galaxy in the fight for a playoff spot. kiyotaka is known for being able to both win solo and throw the game. He did this on his signature Tinker in the second map. After that, the third match also went downhill. Nightfall played the last map very mediocrely, with a key moment being when he initiated a smoke attack from behind on the enemy, which ended in failure: five enemies were waiting for him under the base. After that, he decided to buyback and die in the same place alone.
PARIVISION were supposed to easily take down Wildcard Gaming and successfully accomplished this task. Notably, both teams collected eight Helm of Dominator between them during the series, five of which were bought by players from PARIVISION.
To everyone's surprise, Tundra Esports with a substitute took down last year's champions - Team Liquid. Despite the meager net worth of Tobi and several critical mistakes from Crystallis, largely thanks to the efforts of 33, the series still went into the piggy bank of Tundra Esports.
The coach of Team Liquid took the defeat hard, writing on his personal account:
"Sad about the result, but what can you do, I couldn't prepare the team for this event, it's entirely my fault. Please stop wishing us all death, it's hard enough for us already".
The cherry on top was the confrontation between Team Spirit and Team Falcons. The first 76-minute game was very intense and nerve-wracking, with the chances of winning being almost equal. However, Team Spirit lacked cohesion, the supports died too often, and Malr1ne on his signature Sand King showed an overly impressive performance. On the second map, it was obvious that Team Spirit had lost their spirit. Moreover, they didn't even ban Team Falcons's signature picks, choosing instead to focus on their own: Magnus for Collapse and Morphling for Yatoro. Unfortunately, this was not enough to overcome such strong opponents. Team Spirit left the tournament, for the first time in the history of their participation in TI not playing on the big stage.
The International 2025 takes place from September 4 to 14 in Hamburg, Germany. Currently, the tournament's prize pool is 2.78 million dollars.
