Arteezy suggested Quinn return to the pro scene, but he refused
We met with Arteezy to finally clarify whether he will return to the pro scene in the near future, as he was recently spotted at a bootcamp with Team Liquid, and currently, Artur is actively boosting MMR. You can read his answers below:
— Do you plan to return to Dota, what are your plans for the next year?
— Many people I would like to play Dota with are currently in teams. So for me, it all comes down to finding a group of people I really want to play with. I still love playing Dota very much, I adore this game, so I can't say I'll never return. But right now, it depends on the people I find. If some of my friends want to just play for fun in the future, maybe we'll gather something. But at the moment, I have no specific plans for a return.
— If there was an opportunity to assemble a team from players who are currently inactive, who would you choose?
— Well, some time ago there were some conversations... This was before Abed joined Virtus.pro. We discussed the possibility of playing in open qualifiers for TI — me, RAMZES666, Abed, and Fly. It didn't happen, but it's an example of people, my friends, and former teammates, with whom I had fun playing in past teams. I can imagine that this might happen in the future. Every year before TI, many of my friends approach, talk to me, and ask if I want to form a team. I remember we also had a conversation with Puppey. In general, it's hard to predict. I think there are many such discussions, but nothing... nothing happens. Just talked, and that's it. So it's hard to say, but it's an example of a team that would be fun.
— What about persuading Quinn to return to Dota with you?
— I talked to Quinn. He would agree only to play for fun and on some short-term offers. Maybe at TI he will want to return, I don't know. But right now he is very much enjoying his lifestyle, his work. I think he likes this kind of break. For now, he has made it clear that he doesn't want to do anything related to playing Dota. But who knows, maybe in the future this will change.
— We just saw a good game from you and your wife. Do you often play Dota with her?
— I think she hasn't played Dota for many years. I know for sure she hasn't played since the new map came out. Was it 2022? So no, I don't play Dota with her.
We play other games together, like Splitgate. But I think it's hard to play Dota if the MMR difference is too big. It's hard to enjoy. Yes, there are better games...
The show match, in which Arteezy and his wife, dove, participated, took place at the arena where Blast Slam V is held from December 5 to 7, in Chengdu, China. The tournament prize pool is 1 million dollars.
